Why traditional third-party recruitment has saturated the staffing market for local authorities

The staffing market is filled with traditional third-party recruitment companies that are all battling each other, whereas talent pools bring in a brand new and fresh idea of recruitment.

Traditional third-party recruitment methods have time-consuming lines of communication which cause delays in the hiring duration and have high margin charges for their services. In some time-sensitive cases, the client may even have to go outside of their recruitment agency to fill their urgent position. However, talent pools cut out all the time-consuming processes and stages and allow the local authority to have their own say within the recruitment process.

Talent pools work on the basis of promoting organic growth and client advocacy through a collection of active and passive candidates who are in the recruitment pipeline and have applied for a position at some point. The talent pool can also evaluate their skills and their suitability for the role. Therefore, when you need to hire, whether you have a short or long timescale, you can search through the pool of candidates to see who matches the position the most, this is a much more cost-effective approach.

For these reasons, traditional third-party recruitment agencies no longer benefit the candidate, the client or the customers/service users like talent pools can.
